Hi been here a while but this is my first post.
I'll introduce myself
I am a repair tech of twenty five years standing who also has a thing for Carbon guitars .
I have a proto Steinberger GL2 with a milled steel bridge ,a GM7TA , a rebuilt Synapse 22, two Parker Nightflys , Parker Deluxe, and two Warmoths with Moses necks.
and a new Blade.
Now I see some of you have fitted new bridges because of the intonation issues with the original (the wound "G" thing).I think the bridge is the one that WD sells and has M8 posts and 81mm spacing, problem is this is not the standard Gibson width of 3 1/14" (approx82.75mm.) I see the pic of the budget Wilkinson (supposed to be 82mm spacing,)and that seamed to fit . has anyone fitted one of the following ;Hipshot baby grand, Gotoh 510, Schaller 452 , Pigtail adjustable or the Tonepros wraparound (metric,)I would like to know how well it fitted (or if it fitted.)
I'm in the middle of fine tuning all the Blades QC issues (cometic fit and finnish issues, rewire etc.)
I will post pics of mine soon.
I look forward to seeing them...
I just tried the Wilkinson .
Fits well, matches the radius exactly and gives you a bit more scope to lower the action .(if that is a issue on yours.)
Mine came with locking studs so it won't fall of every time you restring .
It sounds a lot better than the stock unit and will intonate exactly .

This should be the stock unit.

Hipshot Baby grand.

Schaller (without fine tunners.)
The Gotoh Wilkinson.

Gotoh 510.
This is a good one

Pigtail

Tonepros

Badass copy.

Schaller with fine tuners. (very 1987)
so which one guys?
Eagle,
I'm not tech, so I'm learning from you guys.
I'm trying to follow the bouncing ball here............looks like you settled on the Wilkinson.
Is that correct?
What was the stock unit on yours?
I swap parts as often as strings so nothing is definite.
I will try a few and keep the best sounding one. I am using the Wilk at the moment.
The guitar had a terrible $5 POS with the intonation fixed for a wound G stock .Had to go immediately as it sounded out of tune.
It was this I think.

Hi Eagle,
Welcome to CarbonGuitar.com!
You know what I think? I think you don't have enough guitars in your collection! ;)
Thanks for the bridge/tailpiece tips for the CE Blade. Maybe CE will look into your suggestions so players who buy one of these axes don't have to rebuild it to make it really good.
Regards,
RainDance
Ok Eagle,
Mine came with a Wilkinson out of the box.
I don't know enough to say it's the best but it seems to work for me.
Thanks
I have the Schaller with fine tuners. I just haven't installed it yet.
Welcome Eagle, and a repair tech too... nice... make that a double welcome.
Life Is good.. just getting expensive.
