On Moses' website, under the NAMM section, was a mention of this little gem, the Moses X-Wing Hyperlite, which, according to that page, is:
an all-carbon 3.5 lb. performance guitar that travels exceptionally well. In fact, this guitar will be guaranteed to meet the most restrictive limitations that can be legally levied against airline passengers while providing the highest quality tonal and playing capabilities
The page also mentions it will be on sale "summer" of 2010 (second-to-third quarter). Those look like Strandberg EGS fixed bridges, which will help keep the weight down (a set of six weighs 72 grams, compared to 410 for a Floyd Rose).
Anyone else excited about this?

Hi:
Steve from Moses C/F here. The X-wing has been ready to go for about 15 months now. This being true other than awaiting Hipshot's completion of their guitar headless system. Our discussions with Hipshot Dave began 2 years ago, but boy are they slow! Our assessment is that the Strandberg system, though light, is not ideally designed. With the lackluster nature of current world economy's there is no rush to put out an incredible product with less than premiere parts. It is also unclear as to whether the Hipshot system will be correct for the X-wing in Hipshots final embodiment. As a back-up position, should there be enough interest, we are capable of tooling-up to produce our own bridge tuner. Moses C/F produces so many products, including those at our www.soundcomposites.com sister website, that we are not prone to jumping the gun just because... and no other company will out do us on this one, I assure you. However, we will be pleased to have any interested players contact us should they wish to receive further information and introduction updates. This will also be provided on our 'Moses Carbon Graphite Guitars' Facebook page.
FYI: The 3.5 lb. X-wing has a 3-D full size body that folds behind its center core. It has an easily removable neck that when re-installed allows for bringing the guitar up to pitch by flipping a simple Cam. It is 100% C/F: balanced, warm, focused, complete harmonic content, sustain-to-die-for tone.
Wishing you all great playing...
Cheers.

I'm looking forward to it, Steve. Fingers crossed for it not having a heel :)
Steve, thanks for joining in the discussion here. I suspect that you were tipped that I remarked in another thread that I had inquired about the X-Wing Hyperlite but had received no reply. (Kadmium, who started this thread, had mentioned about the guitars delay, but how I'd probably be able t get one made if I asked nicely.) I'm very interested, but won't be able to be a NAMM this year. If you care to share pricing information here, there may be others who would be interested. If you prefer to do that privately, you have an email from me, or if you DON'T have that please let me know and I'll re-send.
This is really going to cost me some sleep!
I am now. Very cool.
