After trying several guitars on "road trips" I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the dreadnought from MacNichol's. I'm looking forward to it arriving in the next couple of weeks. (I know it didn't go on a road trip yet, but if it's what I think after having played the H-WS1000N2 I should be a happy camper.)
Maybe Justin will put in a supply of Mojo when he does the set-up?!

Jon,
Glad to hear you're really happy with this guitar! I'm looking forward to it.
I asked Rainsong about their gig bags and was told they are a "snug fit." Don't know if that means they are/are not recommended. I tried my Martin D-35 in the gig bag that came with my CA OX-Raw: That was a snug fit, but it worked. I think the Rainsong Hybrid is thicker at the endpin than the Martin.

Nice buy swampster. We will of course be waiting for some audio/video stuff.

Hi Ray,
The RainSong Gig Bag will fit the RainSong WS, DR, and OM models but not the Jumbo or the 12-string Jumbo. The Gig Bag was originally designed for the RainSong A-WS1000 Advanced Series guitar (Rainsong's lower-cost model of a few years ago). This gig bag is a quality item that I ordered a couple of years ago, and I've had several guitars (RainSong and other brands) in the bag with a nice fit. Being that a RainSong Dreadnought DR1000 is 5" deep at the endpin, and 16" across its lower bout, it is indeed both deeper than a Martin or a Taylor dreadnought. Thus, the RainSong Gig Bag will fit any carbon or graphite dreadnought and smaller guitar body-style that I know of. For $75, it's a really good-quality item with plenty of padding and storage-pocket space!

RainDance
Thanks, RainDance. I'll likely part with the $$$ to get the Rainsong gig bag.
I appreciate your input.

Recontacted the folks at RainSong. Gig bag is a fit ... the check's in the mail.
Nice service!

Just another thumbs up for the Rainsong gigbag. Mine is for my WS 1000 and fits fine. The dread should work and be even snugger ( is that a word?)
Can't wait to hear what you think of the guitar and the bag.
RainDance,
I was thinking about ordering the gig bag for my OM, for the convience, but...
My factory hard case for my OM is the same as my WS and it has some "wiggle" room, do you think The OM would be alright in the gig bag?
Thanks in advance,
The Drunk
Hi, A really snug, reasonably priced, and overall nice OM size gig bag is the Taylor Big Baby bag. Jon

Hi Drunk,
The RainSong Deluxe Gig Bag would also have "wiggle" room for your OM, too, being that the bag is a perfect for for both the WS1000 and DR1000 models. I think, however, being thickly-padded, the Deluxe Gig Bag would conform to your OM, thus cradling and stabilizing it within the bag to keep it from sliding around inside whether carrying the bag by the handle or by the back-pack straps, and offer good protection too.

RainDance
I've had mine for almost two months. It is a fantastic guitar. The low E has the guts of a dreadnought, the upper registers project like an OM, the volume beats every head-to-head comparison with a Martin dreadnought I've tried (real tests where both guitars have the same strings of about the same age), and the tone is positively differentiated while also very natural (wooden) sounding. Add in the lightness (I'm using a Taylor dreadnought gig bag which is very form fitting and makes my traveling package about as compact as the typical OM in a less well designed bag), attention to detail in its construction, and robustness; and I'm completely sold.
After playing it for a few hours, all other guitars sound sort of quiet, dull, and of low sustain. Hybrid, satin models with Baggs element electronics (if the claim it is cheaper than Fishman is correct, then there is absolutely no downside, my GX/active-element sounds fantastic, only an Aura is better), will make not buying the OM very tough (maybe impossible) for me...
I think the Hybrids are a big step forward for RainSong.
