I went crazy and bought 3, but now I'm down to 2.

You, on the other hand, have more inventory than most dealers.    You're like the Fort Knox of carbon fiber.   Smile

Please don't stand too close to my initial post for your own well being.

As the moat is under construction (in these slower economic times it can be built with cheaper labor).

You are THE MAN when it comes to collecting gear!  It is both fun and amazing to watch from afar here and over at AGF.   I have a paltry three Cargos in my modest collection.  I am probably at the bottom of the pile at this point, especially since I did not partake of the recent Emerald craze. InnocentI will also be an observer when the Peavey/CA craze starts later this year.  But even vicariously, it can be fun to "participate" in all these acquisitions via the forums, though unfortunately, such participation does nothing for the companies that are trying to build their respective businesses.  I have done my share in the past, though, with TWO Motif XS8s (but no other midi gear anymore) and THREE AAD Cub 100s and the various pedals/preamps I modded and/or built.

It seems, from what I have read, that the S90XS is a better fit for live playing than the Motif XS.  It doesn't have the sequencer and the overall flexibility, but it is simpler overall without sacrificing quality and therefore better suited to live playing situations.  I have tow XS8s because I intend to keep them for a very long time.  I also have the service manual and plan to swap parts, suing the first one that breaks when parts are no longer available, as parts for the other one.  The screen itself is expensive enough to have justified the purchase.  I got an excellent price on both.  The first was purchased when both Guitar Center AND Yamaha had their own discounts on it at the same time.  I got it for less (brand new in the box) than they have been going for used on Ebay.  The second one was also brand new in the box (but NOS), purchased from a local Best Buy when they decided not to carry these in the store anymore because they just weren't moving.  With Guitar Center right across the parking lot, I could see why.  Best Buy seems much more willing to deal these days, but I get the sense that with big ticket items, people are not sure that Best Buy is in that market for the long haul.  That is all Guitar Center does, while Best Buy sells just about everything else from appliances to car stereos, home theater, computers, DVDs, etc.  So, for me, it was having the cash in hand at the right times and places to save a lot of money on these keyboards.

Just as with the Cargo, for me the Motif XS has some extra "thing" about it that competing models just don't have.  Where the Cargo really doesn't appeal to everybody, and rarely in anybody else as it does for me, so it is with the Motif XS.  Besides, the Motif XS runs Linux, which is my OS of choice and has been for many years, both at work and at home.

I want in on this contest--I heard that kramster was donating a Cargo for the winner.  But I want the contest expanded to who has the best collection; which would include the rarest as as well as the most..  Maybe we should have two catagories-- I suspect that K has enough Cargos to cover two winners.  We also know that K would probably win the one catagory, so he'd only be giving up one Cargo.  He probably wouldn't even miss it.

Yes, K, but sadly, it was only one of many X10 steel strings made.  The X10N on the other hand was signed, dated, and the only nylon.  Oh, just in case you missed it, I'm now I'm very close to having a very limited edition Super OM2N.  I so want that cargo 1st prize for rare.  Although, a few people on this forum have some pretty rare CA's and I probably should not be counting my Cargos until the ship comes in.

Well, my Cargos are certainly not rare, nor do I have very many (according to the standards that have been set in this forum).  So it is up to you guys to see who wins.
