I see the really cool basses that Emerald makes too. There's one that's a short scale travel bass which looks really cool!
My husband is the bass player and we were checking them out.
I'm interested in seeing if Emerald will come out with an electric guitar maybe something similar to the blade.
I'm also looking forward to seeing what peavey might do in regards to the blade.

I've wanted a Novax guitar for a long time too! lol, but not the 8 strings because I wouldn't have the patience for that.
I enjoyed your videos on youtube. I know it has to be really difficult to play those 8 string instruments. Did you find the fanned frets easy to get used to?
I saw Charie Hunter live once in NY and it was cool that he had 2 seperate amps one for the bass strings and another for the high strings and he also was using a chorusy, leslie- like effect on the high strings which sounded really nice. Kaki King opened up for him that night and that was pretty wild too :)
You're from Spain? Do you live there now? I'm Cuban, but my ancestry is from Spain.

Yeah! i'm from Spain. i live in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in the north-west corner of Spain. maybe we share some blood ;)
the Novax is an amazing concept. actually mine is built by Wes Lambe (same quality, half the price, seriously! -> wlguitars.com/). i also use the 2 amps. it sure need a lot of job on it to work, but it pays back ;)
i need no adaptation to the fanned frets. they are amazingly natural! intonation and the tone sure improves a LOT. it is really logical and natural. just try this. look at your hand and spread your fingers. do they spread in parallel like your frets or like a fan? as simple as this
Charlie Hunter is really amazing. i love his playing and also Kaki's. i've met Charlie and we had an amazing jam (if only anybody recorded it!!!) and i'm really looking forward meeting Kaki. i really appreciate her amazing social fight and i learned some of her tunes in the past
keep in touch!
I've been to Spain, Basque country. I've travelled Mexico. I know some Cubans. Here we are, one big family. I have the best collection of nylon string carbon fiber guitars in the world. And proud of it! Welcome to the Carbon Fiber Guitar Forum.
Thanks Evan :)
I have a nylon string parlor guitar made by a builder named Gustavo Arias in Paraguay and I love it :)
You can see some pics of it here:

I like small bodied guitars very much! I would like another nylon string in the future. I would love to see some pics of yours :)

When Allister brought the Emerald tour to MacNichol, he brought several full size electric basses with him, that were very nice. I think I asked him if he had plans to do some electric guitar. I'm pretty sure he said "Down the road.".
Ev:
What a beautiful guitar! I too like a small guitar. The Emerald X10N thread on this forum has many pictures provided by Kramster. This X10 is about the size of a small parlor guitar and has great projection and tonal qualities. I haven't tried the Blackbird Rider, yet, but according to Ryan it, too, is stunning. Thanks for the pictures.
I'm not sure about this travel Bass you talk about. I only do a full scale bass but who knows in the future.
As for electric!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well electric guitars are my love and passion and they are certainly in the future in a big way but I'm not going to go there until I am really ready to do something special.
I always considered the acoustic guitar the biggest challenge and I still have more to do there before I focus on electric 6 string guitars. The electric bass is coming through development and should be ready in a few months.
I guess all I can say at this point is not yet!
Don't worry Alistair, we'll be patient!
I know that many here love the Blade and I mean them no disrespect, but to me it seemed like an acoustic guitar with a pickup. The neck was wrong, the tuners wrong, the frets wrong, the bridge wrong - for ME. As primarily an electric player I would beg you to examine the playability of the Parker Fly and XOX Audio Tools Handle, and go down that path rather than following what CA did with The Blade.
Im with you Larry
To me the Parker Fly is one of the finest instruments ever designed and it will certainly have an influence on anything I build.
Hi ev! thanks for your friendship on youtube! in fact i had seen your videos long before you posted them here. welcome to the forum!
i also wonder if Alistair will end up coming with an electric guitar... he is was a magic box. he always has some surprises kept in his pocket ;)
i also missed the blade. it was interesting a hollow body guitar but so slender!!! i thought buying it and carrying it in my acoustic gig bag together with the acoustic! i measured it and was doable . pretty confy!
you should know that Alistair is always listening, so...
(now he is busy with the new dread x20, by the way. i'm really looking forward it!)
