I just realized that in our previous discussion of portable battery powered amps no one mentioned the Carvin Stage Mate. 100 watts, 4 imputs, 36 pounds, supposed to last 3 hours at full power.
Has anyone tried one? I tried one a few years ago, at the Carvin factory, liked it, but it was a little big for my taste--and my Crate Limo does the job for one person with a guitar and a voice. But for a three or four piece, very nice. Runs about $400.oo.
And while we're on the subject. Kramster endorces Roland battery powered amps--and I agree in terms of output. However, I am off-put by the fact that the Rolands are not plug-in-and-recharge like the Crates.
Ray;
The AC-33 is very appealing; its light weight, its sound, and so forth. I've been thinking about talking with some electronics wizard and see if I could convert the AC-33 to a rechargable, on board battery. That would work for me.

I have the Roland AC-33 battery-powered amp. It will run about 12-14 hrs on the battery pack. It weighs 10+ pounds.
I use Kodak "AA" camera batteries (8) and they charge up, in their own charger, in a relatively short amount of time. Not "quite" as convenient as recharging in the amp, but a very small inconvenience for the amount of time I can use the amp w/o recharging.
Just thought I'd throw in my $.02.
