I think I may have a new favorite strintg.  I just put a set of Lifespan Mediums with the Cleartone coating on my Rainsong, and they really ring!  You can hear complex harmonics across the sound spectrum.  I tthink they are brighter than either the Rainsong or Daddario EXP meds, and really rich sounding.  I'd be interested in whether anyone else has the same reaction.

I haven't tried those, but I did go through several very different sets on the H-WS roadtripper. My impression was that it was capable of handling a broad range equally well. Bright strings sounded good. Warm strings sounded good. Playing closer to the bridge was good. Playing closer to the fretboard was good. Loud was good. Strummed was good. Gentle finger-pad-picking was good. And so on. It is a very versatile platform for producing whatever tone you want. Nothing felt like swimming upstream, so to speak.

I signed up for the HS-WS trip too. Maybe I'll pick up a set of those Lifespan's to try as it passes through.

I think my stream of consciousness has a few oxbows.
