Thinking of lowering the strings a hair on my Rainsong WS1000.  Just got a new saddle.  Plan on sanding it a bit next week.  Anyone do something like this on a Rainsong?  If so, any suggestions? Thanx ahead of time!

Mr. Ed,

I did that recently on my HWS1000.  I got a higher saddle to raise the action and then decided to make it a tiny bit lower.  What I'd recommend is getting a saddle vise and files from StewMac, drawing a pencil line at the bottom of your saddle, and then file lightly just to the line.  Make sure that you are filing the bottom flat and not at an angle.  So piece of cake.

You do not need files to lower the height of a saddle. Just place it over a 400 grit sandpaper sheet, and sand it, possibly leaning over a thick ruler that will

help the saddle to be sanded perfectly flat.
