I have one but I've only used 12-53's on it so far (D'Addario EJ16).  It sounds so good now I don't want to experiment.

Volsr1,

I broke down and got a BB Rider recently because my daughter took my Cargo to Europe for the year and I needed a travel guitar.  The owner of the Music Gallery called Joe at BlackBird who said the guitar had been designed with light gauge strings in mind, but, especially if I was using a lot of alternate tunings, he wasn't (too) worried. . .

So, with some trepidation, I switched the strings on the Rider to Martin Lifespan SP mediums, and I think it sounds better.  I can play them harder, they don't seem to break up or sound as dulcimer-like as the lights - and after a couple of weeks, the Rider shows no sign of bending, breaking, melting, bowing etc. :)  So, so far, so good, even in regular tuning.

Dave,  I just re-strung mine with Martin SP Custom Lights.  I can't tell a difference in them and the EJ16's.
