Normally my gigging partner and I (as the Eclectic Junction) hit a coffee shop or two a month, playing some acoustic folk and blues and we have a fun time for 2-3 hours. He was away this week-end, so I tried some different things: During this current 24 hours I played last night at a women's haven/shelter in a neighboring town (great time ... one woman can sing like Maria Muldar in her prime -- what a treat to have her sing along with me!); at noon today played an hour-plus set with a small community group at the Children's Museum in Saginaw, MI (gave the kids kazoos and our folks got'em moving); later this afternoon I played a wedding, accompanying two hammered dulcimer players, in a rural country church (a really neat sound!); and finally. tonight the wife and I are going to Bay City to have dinner a listen to a friend in his acoustic band at a local eatery!
I think this is what this non-commercial music is all about and just wanted to share the experience.

NEATO!
I particularily enjoyed the part about the kazoos. Years ago I bought a gross of kazoos and passed them around to all the kids in the vilage. For the next month you could hear kazoos throughout the village. It was noisy, but fun.
Music for music's sake. Doesn't get any better.
