SOLD Blackbird Super OM 2.0

Tuesday, 2/28/12... I just met up with a local friend and made a handshake deal to sell the Blackbird. Thanks again to Michael at McNichol and Justin at Euphony for making this purchase so special. I continue to profess that this purchase was the most custom-made to me and my styles of play. I appreciate both of you guys.
This Blackbird is going to make someone else very happy. I'm happy about that too.

In December 2011, I bought a Blackbird Super OM 2.0 from MacNichol Guitars and had Justin at Euphony LLC install a bone saddle and an LR Baggs Anthem pickup system in it. I am the original owner. I've never gigged with it. It's in immaculate condition. Not a blemish on her. I've experimented with different strings, another bone saddle, bone pins (versus the original graphite) and find this an amazing instrument for finger-style and light strumming. It's got a tone that's unlike anything else I've ever played (part of it is due to the way it's braced and part seems to be due to the off-set sound-holes/sound ports).
Comes with all the original papers, the original rigid-foam Gator case, the graphite pins, the original graphite saddle plus the custom antique bone saddle that Justin at Euphony set it up with.
The LR Baggs Anthem pick up gives lots of flexibility. It's a dual source system with the ability to blend the two separate pick-ups with a twist of screw (set just inside the soundhole).
The pictures are of the two Blackbirds that Michael at MacNichol received in December. Mine is the one with the red accents.
I'm selling this with much ambivalence. I wanted to say that I tried one of these guitars. It's pretty amazing, especially in alternate tunings and played fingerstyle. But I've got my eye on a boutique instrument and several of my instruments and some of my gear will need to go in order to get something in a higher price range.

You're giving someone a heck of deal here. I have the nylon strung OM. I purchased the nylon after trying the road trip for the steel string--it is truely a unique and marvelous instrument. If this was a Luis and Clark violin it would be selling for $5000. Good luck with your sale, and good luck with whatever boutique guitar you're lusting after.

Full disclosure, there is a Guitar Show in South Carolina that I'll be going to SAT morning. I'm bringing the Blackbird (along with a Gibson Blues King small body) and could possibly trade or sell it/them there. I'd actually prefer to SELL it as I've got my eye on a small hand-made acoustic that is geared toward fingerstyle play.
I think the price is more than fair. Someone's going to get a great guitar at a great price and yes, I'll be taking a small hit on it in order to move it quickly.

I returned from the Spartanburg, SC Guitar Show and opted NOT to trade the Blackbird. I had the opportunity to trade it, along with 2 other guitars and a chunk of cash for a McPherson and my feet got cold (almost $5000 is a lot of money tied up in one guitar!).
Just wanted to give you all a head's up that this Blackbird is still for sale.

I've been a longtime, loyal customer of MacNichol and highly recommend them for anyone looking to buy a carbon fiber guitar.
